To make the 4th of July star wands, you'll need just a few ordinary materials, many of which you probably have around the house. The one thing you may need to get is a star-shaped paper punch. If you don't have a star paper punch, you can always trace and cut a star shape onto paper or use star-shaped stickers. Here's what you'll need:

  • colored paper (red, white, or blue)
  • disposable chopsticks
  • small or medium-size glue dots (or double stick tape or glue)
  • ribbon (red, white, or blue)
  • scissors
  • washi tape (optional; If you don't have washi tape, you can just paint the chopsticks or leave it bare.)
  • 1 1/2" or larger star-shaped paper punch (or stickers)

Put washi tape on the chopsticks.
