Top Men's "Athleisure" Apparel for Workout to Work Day

Athletic Apparel for Every Occassion

Collage by Laura Williams

Gone are the days of offices overrun by suits and ties. Today's workplace is much more casual, lending itself to a slew of new "athleisure" attire that makes it possible to get active during your work day without carrying a change of clothes with you. Granted, not every piece of athleisure attire lends itself to every workplace or every workout, but there are more options than ever before. Read on for a few of my favorite pieces.

Lululemon ABC Pant

These pants by Lululemon may seem like traditional trousers (they do have a trouser waistband with belt loops, after all), but they're so much more. They feature sweat-wicking fabric and four-way stretch, as well as reflective detailing on the inside of the roll-up cuffs so you can stay safe on early morning or late night bike commutes. Grab a pair in one of four colors for $128.

Lululemon Seawall Track Pant

Yes, another great pant by Lululemon. The Seawall Track Pants ($118) aren't quite as "formal" as the ABC pant, but they're equally appropriate for today's causal workplace. With two-way stretch, a comfortable loose fit, moisture-wicking fabric and a media sleeve to keep your phone in place, you'll be able to head out for a mid-day jog or enjoy a boisterous game of ping-pong in the middle of your workday.

Lululemon 5-Year Basic High V

Lululemon for the win! You can't lose with the 5 Year Basic High V Tee ($54). With chafe-resistant seaming, a close fit that won't bag out and a live-in softness you'll love, you can throw this on for any activity and layer it under a blazer at work.

Ibex Shak Lite Pullover

The clean lines and close fit of the Merino wool Ibex Shak Lite Pullover ($145) make it perfect as a workplace to workout option, especially on early spring or late fall days when you want to stay warm when hitting the trails for an outdoor hike, and cool and dry when working inside. The new 1/4 zip version is also slightly "dressier" than the full zip and half zip options, making it more appropriate for the office.

Nau Modus Trench

With bike-commuting and bike sharing becoming ever-more-popular options, it can be hard to find clothing that can take you straight from the bike to the boardroom. Nau has made it their mission to fill this gap. The Nau Modus Trench ($249) is a classy, contemporary jacket that features recycled stretch polyester, 100% waterproofing, a zip-off hood to protect you from the elements, and a dipped hem to offer more coverage in the back.

Nau Vice II Blazer

Another great option for bike commuters, the Nau Vice II Blazer ($280) offers water repellency, two-way stretch, a vented back for ease of movement, and an overall classic look that's perfect for the casual workplace.

Nau Timbuk2 Walker Laptop Backpack

Timbuk2 has the coolest selection of messenger bags and backpacks for the active man and woman, but this special Timbuk2 Walker Laptop Backpack ($249) from Nau is truly in a league of its own. It features water resistant waxed canvas to keep your goods safe, leather trim, padded adjustable straps for ease-of-wear, and lots of pockets for water bottles, pens, laptops and tablets.

VIM & VIGR Compression Socks

Compression socks help with circulation and improved athletic performance, so why not wear a pair at work? The VIM & VIGR Men's Dark Brown and Brick ($30) are designed for comfort in everyday wear.

These aren't just any sneaker. the ECCO O2 in Mocha ($190) offers a deliciously supple genuine yak leather outer that's sealed for water resistance with GORE-TEX SURROUND. With direct-injected PU midsole foam, the footbed is designed to be fitted for all-day cushioning and walking comfort. This means you can wear it all over town, to-and-from your favorite activities, and at the office. It's just that stylish.
