Baby K'Tan Baby Carrier Review

Baby K'Tan instructions

The Bottom Line

The Baby K'Tan Baby Carrier was not my favorite choice for small infants due to the rigid sizes. If you get this baby carrier as a baby shower gift, consider an additional sling or wrap to use in the first months as both your body and your baby adjust. This works really well for bigger or older babies.

Guide Review - Baby K'Tan Baby Carrier - Review

The Baby K'Tan Baby Carrier is supposed to be a cross between a sling and a traditional, rigid front baby pack. You are supposed to be able to simply choose a size and color and you're good to go. I didn't get that from this carrier. My belly was still too large in the immediate postpartum period, even though the size was right.

This meant I had to use another baby carrier those first weeks, waiting for my uterus to shrink.

The Baby K'Tan's instructions are as confusing as any sling or baby carrier's instructions. It's much easier to find someone who has used one before and have them help you to figure out how to wear it. Keep in mind that it is a cross between several carrier types, so instructions should be consulted.

There are videos available online.

We reviewed the size 6-8 for a mom who normally wears a size 6. She was in the first week postpartum but felt that the cloth carrier was too tight across her breasts. This was not adjustable and so she didn't wear it. Perhaps with an older baby, this would not be an issue or in a mom who is not immediately postpartum.

The look of the Baby K'Tan Baby Carrier was nice. The fabric felt good and was attractive.
