Baby Nurse Interview Questions

Questions to ask a newborn care specialist or baby nurse

The option to hire a childcare provider exists during your pregnancy, before your baby enters the world. Many parents-to-be choose to hire newborn care specialists, also know as baby nurses, in preparation for those first weeks home with a new baby.

A baby nurse is someone with extensive practical experience with newborns. A baby nurse can be a wonderful support for first time parents or parents juggling older kids who need some help when the newborn arrives home.

A baby nurse can help new parents in many areas, such change diapers, how to give sponge and tub baths, how to feed and burp a baby, how to swaddle, and soothe, and teach proper care for a baby's umbilical cord and circumcision. A baby nurse will do nighttime feedings for bottle feeders while the new mom rests. The interview is very important when choosing a newborn care specialist or baby nurse. This list provides suggested questions to ask a baby nurse during a phone or in-person interview.
