Best Low-FODMAP Cookbooks

Research studies continue to show that the low-FODMAP diet is effective in reducing IBS symptoms for majority of the people who try it. One of the biggest challenges to the diet is finding things to eat in the high-FODMAP world that we live in.

One way to be successful on the diet is to spend more time cooking your own foods. Home-cooking offers you full control over what ingredients you are using - meaning that there are no high-FODMAP hidden surprises. Home-cooking also enables you to create meals for yourself and your family that are filled with nutritious, health-enhancing whole foods, as opposed to the not-so-healthy prepared or fast foods.

Here is a list of low-FODMAP cookbooks that I have personally read. They all get my stamp of approval for displaying good knowledge of the workings of the diet. To be successful on the diet you will need all of the help and ideas you can get. Each of these books offers unique recipes - you will want to fill your bookshelf with all of them!

Yes, I am quite biased by putting this book on the top of the list. But because I wrote it, I have full confidence in the chapters that describe how to safely and effectively follow the diet. And between myself and my trusted co-author, I know that each recipe is nutritious, delicious and easy to prepare. Emphasis was placed on using all whole and health-enhancing foods. Enjoy!

In this book, Sue Shepherd, Ph.D., the brainchild behind the diet, expands on her first book with a wide variety of recipes. Similar to her first book, many of her recipes are at a gourmet level. However, in this second book, she also includes more easy-to-prepare low-FODMAP versions of familiar comfort foods.
