Best Cleansers for Oily Skin

Banish Oily Skin for Good

Oily skin can be so stubborn, but vigorously scrubbing away at it won't get rid of it. It'll only end up causing irritation, and irritation plus oil equals acne. Because of your skin type, you're suited to use a wider variety of facial cleansers than most people. It's okay to use a bunch of different products, like a foaming facial cleanser, a mild scrub, and a facial cloth. If you're struggling with oily skin, try adding one of these great cleansers to your skincare routine.

Dove Sensitive Skin Foaming Facial Cleanser

Unfortunately, Dove doesn't make the Sensitive Skin Foaming Facial Cleanser anymore, but you can still find it on Amazon. Get it while you can because this is a great product. This cleanser might have "sensitive" in its name, but don't mistake it for a wimp. It's a great cleanser for people with oily skin because it's non-irritating, and the detergent it contains can be a little drying - in a good way. It also removes makeup well and rinses off very easily.

Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser

The Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser is such a great all-around cleanser for oily skin. It easily rinses off and removes makeup without a hitch. It does contain fragrance, however, which is why it's recommended for oily skin that can withstand mildly irritating ingredients.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub

Slightly to very oily skin are the only skin types that should use an exfoliating scrub regularly. The Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub contains acne-fighting salicylic acid, but it isn't enough to exfoliate. Added microbeads that don't have hard edges soften when exposed to water, making it more gentle than the average scrub. It's able to exfoliate without injuring the skin.

Olay Pore Minimizing Cleanser & Scrub

The Pore Minimizing Cleanser & Scrub scrub contains microbeads, but not enough for it to be considered a strong exfoliator. It's also part cleanser, and it removes makeup and rinses off well. This might be the only scrub safe enough to use as a daily cleanser.

Clean & Clear Daily Pore Cleanser

The Daily Pore Cleanser is another cross between a scrub and a cleanser. It's made with witch hazel and fragrance, which can be irritating, but it's a great choice if you know your skin isn't sensitive.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap

Clinique has several Liquid Facial Soap formulations for different types of skin, including one for oily skin, but I recommend using the mild formula. The oily skin formula contains enough menthol to be irritating. This is a great, basic cleanser that is soap- and fragrance-free. It removes makeup well and doesn't dry out the skin. It's more expensive than drugstore cleansers included in this list, but I want those die-hard Clinique fans to know their best option.
