One of the most popular ingredients in weight loss supplements today is raspberry ketone. You'll find raspberry ketone fat burning pills, raspberry ketone weight loss pills and even raspberry ketone fat blockers. If popularity was evidence of effectiveness, then raspberry ketone would be the best way to lose weight. But you probably want real evidence that you can lose weight with raspberry ketones.

The Science Behind Raspberry Ketone

After Dr. Oz mentioned raspberry ketone on his popular television show, dieters flocked to stores to buy the weight loss pills. Viewers assumed that since a doctor recommended the diet supplement, it must work. The problem is that there is no evidence that raspberry ketone can have any effect on your body weight. That's of course, assuming that you are human.

Raspberry ketone has been studied in rats, with limited success.  But just because a chemical can help rats stay slim doesn't mean that it will help you stay slim.  According to the National Institutes of Health, there is not enough evidence to assume that raspberry ketone can help you lose weight.

Alternatives to Raspberry Ketones for Weight Loss

If you want to lose weight, why not just eat raspberries? The fruit alone won't cause weight loss to occur, but if you replace higher calorie treats with the low calorie fruit, you can easily cut enough calories to slim down.
