Celebrity Moms Who Had a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)

There is a love of all things celebrity, particularly celebrity moms and babies. I get a ton of questions asking about the birth stories of celebrity moms and their babies. So I have tried to make a list of the ones that I could find who have had a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) and include what information was available.

Kate Winslet Had a VBAC

Kate Winslet had an emergency cesarean for her daughter's birth, her first baby. She expressed having negative feelings about the birth and how she felt she hadn't even given birth. Her second baby was born vaginally and was very healing for her.

Michelle Duggar Has Had Multiple VBACs

Michelle Duggar, known for being the mom of many, with husband Jim Bob. Has had both multiple cesarean births and multiple vaginal birth after cesarean. She's had cesarean birth for reasons like twins, prematurity, fetal malposition and maternal health. To my knowledge she has not talked about how future children will be born should she be blessed with a future pregnancy.

Kate Hudson Has a VBAC with Second Baby

Kate Hudson and fiance Matt Bellamy, of Muse, welcomed Bingham "Bing" Hawn Bellamy on July 9, 2011. This is Hudson's second son, her son Ryder is was born in 2004 and his father is Chris Robinson of the Black Crows, but Bellamy's first child.

She reportedly had a cesarean with Ryder after a failed induction at 38 weeks. Her doctor's said that she should consider induction because she had a big baby. Induction of labor is known to double the risk of cesarean birth in first time mothers, and slightly less in subsequent births.

Anne Dudek's VBAC

Anne Dudek, of Mad Men fame, shared the birth story of her daughter, Saskia. Saskia was a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Anne had been using hypnosis to help her prepare for her birth and had hired a doula. Read about how Anne's OB saved her VBAC.
