Chiropractic is a hands-on healing approach most often used for neuro-musculoskeletal complaints, such as back pain, neck pain, joint pain, and headaches.

The hallmark of chiropractic care is the chiropractic adjustment or manipulation. The purpose of the adjustment is to restore joint position and mobility by manually applying a controlled force to a restricted joint.

Here are eight chiropractic adjustments, demonstrated by Desiree Kiehn D'Agostino, D.C. from the Copley Health Alliance in Boston.

The chiropractic adjustment is used to restore proper function, relieve pressure on the surrounding nerves, reduce pain and muscle tightness, and allow tissues to heal. There are over 20 different adjusting techniques, which can be used alone or in combination.
