This substitute for instant mashed potatoes is that - but it is so much more. I have used it to "starch up" mashed cauliflower or celery root for an improved texture. I've used it instead of bread crumbs​ in meatloaf, crab cakes, and salmon cakes. I've made a kind of hash-like dish with hamburger and spices. In short, this high fiber starch substitute can be a real asset in the low carb kitchen.

True confessions: I'm not a big fan of instant mashed potatoes, so I may not be the best judge of Instant Mashers by themselves. For me, as a stand-alone product, they ranked with instant potatoes. In my opinion, where they shine is as a stand-in for starchy foods.

I like mashed cauliflower as a lower carb alternative to potatoes, but Instant Mashers really improve the texture, making it starchier. They work as a binder in seafood cakes and various croquettes, including crab cakes, salmon cakes, and latkes.

They have a similar function in meatloaf.

Ingredients (Classic Flavor): Cereal fiber, Dehydrated potatoes, soy protein, calcium casseninate, cream powder (cream, lechthin, tocopherols and ascorbic palmitate), whey protein concentrate, milk protein isolate, natural butter flavor, salt.
