Do You Know These 7 Famous People With ADHD?

A surprisingly large portion of the population has symptoms of ADD or ADHD. A 2013 study conducted by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention revealed that about 11% of children and about 4% of adults have been diagnosed. It's worth noting that boys have higher rates of diagnosis and that the percentage of diagnosed adults is much lower because they're less likely to be diagnosed later in life.

Not surprisingly, these statistics include a few famous celebrities. Like these celebrities with serious medical conditions, they have made their condition public to help raise awareness and let other, especially children, know that they are not alone in experiencing symptoms. By going public, many of these celebrities helped raise awareness for research as well. Did you know these famous people had ADHD?

1. Ryan Gosling

Famous actor Ryan Gosling was diagnosed with ADHD as a child. He was prescribed Ritalin from an early age, and even went to school with a group of special-needs students. His mother decided it would be best to homeschool him for an entire year because of ADHD. 

2. Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton revealed that she struggles with ADHD during an interview with Larry King, and that she's been taking medicine for it since she was a child. 

3. Glenn Beck

This famous American media personality jokes about his condition, claiming that it resulted in his success.

He takes medication of help manage symptoms. 

4. Jim Carrey

ADHD hasn't stopped this famous actor from shining on the big screen. He says that he has been struggling with it since childhood and has been very open about the condition all his life.

5. Adam Levine

Adam Levine was diagnosed with ADHD in his early teenage years.
