Douglas Haddad, PhD ("Dr. Doug") is an author, public school teacher, and regular guest parenting/education expert featured on different television programs.

With over 15 years experience working with children, from all different learning backgrounds, as a middle school teacher, coach, mentor, nutritionist, and inspirational speaker, Dr. Douglas Haddad has spoken with hundreds of parents and has worked with them to better understand and communicate with their children in a loving way.

Through his innovative teaching styles and educational games, music, and videos he has originally created for children, Dr. Doug has helped different learners become motivated, set goals, self-manage, learn how to make good choices, become happy, healthy, self-reliant and stable-minded, and navigate through peer pressures to overcome the many challenges that they are faced with each day.   

Dr. Doug has been a full-time contributing writer for Parenting Special Needs magazine since 2010. He is a regular blogger for Empowering Parents and JenningsWire and has been featured in many national magazines and popular online websites, including NEA Today, PR News, International Musician, Men's Exercise, Chicago Health, eHow, Livestrong, Nutrition, San Francisco Chronicle, Houston Chronicle and many more.  


Dr. Douglas Haddad graduated magna cum laude from Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology/secondary education and a master’s degree in biology. He received a second master’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Bridgeport and a doctorate degree in natural health from Clayton College of Natural Health. He was inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi as a lifetime member.
