Erin Johnston, LCSW is a therapist, counselor, coach, and mediator with a private practice in Chicago, Illinois.

Experience

Erin is a practicing psychotherapist treating children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to her clinical work, Erin provides mediation to those looking to resolve conflicts, including divorce and custody issues.

Education

Erin has an undergraduate ('91) and graduate ('94) degree in social work from the University of Kentucky, College of Social Work. She completed licensure requirements and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 1996. She received her certificate in mediation from Northwestern University in 2006.

I think that Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is an often misunderstood diagnosis. It can feel like an insult, as opposed to an answer. Although symptoms of this disorder may be extremely distressing for the individual and those who care about him or her, it is important to remember that behind the fear is a passionate, talented individual who is full of fear. I hope that this site can help reduce the frustration experienced by those with BPD and those who care about them.
