Five Reasons To Nap Instead of Having Unsafe Sex

Sex can be an enormous amount of fun. However, it's not always the best idea. For example, if you're too tired, or otherwise impaired, to make a good decision. Then it might be better to take a nap instead. After all, if nothing else, sex is a lot more fun when you're not worried about falling asleep in the middle of it.

So, the next time it's the end of a long night and you're contemplating impulsively having unprotected sex with someone... stop. Take a moment to close your eyes and think about the potential consequences. Maybe keep them closed for long enough to catch up on a bit of sleep. When you wake up, you may have changed your mind about the way you want to spend your time in bed...

If you've been drinking, a nap might give the alcohol time to wear off

People don't always make the best decisions while they're drinking. It's not even that alcohol is inherently all that disinhibiting. People think it is and that's enough. They drink to "loosen up" and, in doing so, don't always make the best decisions.

That's why it's a good idea not to make decisions about your sex life when you're under the influence. Take a nap instead. It might give the booze time to wear off. Then you can decide if unprotected sex with your partner still seems like a good idea.

When you're tired, your mind is not at its best

Not getting enough sleep can be even worse for your brain than drinking. When you're overtired, things start going a bit lopsided in your mind. It's not just that you suddenly have a tendency to wander into the occasional wall or door jamb. (Is that just me?)

When you haven't gotten enough sleep, it doesn't only affect your coordination. It also becomes a lot harder to focus and make good decisions. There are, after all, multiple reasons why people like to say "Let me sleep on it," before making big life choices.

After a nap, you might have the energy you need to do things more safely

When you're tired, it's hard to motivate yourself to have a good talk about sex with a new partner. It may seem like a lot of bother. It may also seem like too much work to stop and buy condoms or other barriers. After a good nap, however, things may look a lot different. It may start to seem like a good idea to talk about testing, lube, or even the more fun stuff... like what you like to do in bed.

Masturbation - by yourself or with a partner - can be a great way to relax enough to fall asleep. It can also help you work off some of the sexual tension that may be leading you to make questionable decisions about sex. Having unprotected sex with yourself isn't completely safe. However, it is a lot less risky than having unprotected sex with someone else.

If you're going to have risky sexual encounters, the best place to do it is in your fantasy life and your dreams. Take a nap with sexy thoughts on the brain, and with any luck you'll also have some pretty sexy dreams.

In your mind, you can have whatever kind of sex you want without putting yourself or anyone else at risk. So, close your eyes and imagine some fun. A dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste.
