Question: What is the average flaccid penis size?

Answer: Though men tend to spend an inordinate amount of time preoccupied with the size of their erect penis and how it performs, you'll spend the majority of your life in a flaccid state. When your penis is flaccid, that means that it is soft and hanging loosely or limply. You are not physically aroused and, as a result, there is no blood coursing through this appendage.

Put simply, a flaccid penis is a penis at rest.

The average length of a penis in a mature male when it is hanging down loosely is between 3 to 4.5 inches under normal conditions. Though cold and exhaustion can make the penis temporarily smaller. If you're trying to guess how much your penis will grow when it becomes erect based upon the size of your flaccid penis, you should know that there is no relationship between the length of a flaccid penis and an erect penis.

As with the erect penis, there are as many different varieties of flaccid penis length, girth, and appearance out there as there are men in the world. Which is why—despite any urge you may feel to compare yourself to others—you should never allow yourself to feel self-conscious or inadequate in any way.

If you're studying the size of your penis because you're trying to figure out which size condom to buy, good on you. Knowing the size of your penis can help you find the best possible condom for you.

And a good condom fit is essential in ensuring the best and most effective protection. But for this purpose, it's best to measure your penis when it is erect.
