Free Pregnancy Books on Kindle

If you love to read pregnancy books like I do, it can get really expensive. I also really hate to buy books, when I know I can get most of them from the library. But then again, I have to go to the library, find the book, read the book, and get the book on time. Let's just say that by the time I'm done with the book and return it, I probably should have purchased it. Your local library may also offer lending for Kindle books.

This is also a great way to test out books.

That's why I was thrilled with the Kindle Owner's Lending Library. They have a lot of books that you can borrow for free. You can keep it as long as you would like to keep it, but, you can only check out one book at a time. This is a really great deal. So I went to look for some books in the Kindle Lending Library to see what they had, here is what I found:

What to Expect When You're Expecting (4th Edition)

by Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel. This book has been a popular mainstay. Sure, you could pick up a copy at a thrift store or in a yard sale, but it wouldn't be as up to date as this version. This is your standard month-by-month format, with extra chapters on pre conceptional health, nutrition, labor, postpartum, and much more.

It's Really 10 Months: Delivering the Truth About the Glow and Other Blatant Lies

This is a light hearted look at pregnancy and all the aches and pains that go along with it from cankles and beyond.

If you need a good laugh and want to know that you're not alone - this book is one you will enjoy. This book is probably best enjoyed with another book in mind as well. I would encourage you to couple this with a more serious book if you're looking for lots of details on fetal development and how your body grows in pregnancy, but remember, it's a free pregnancy book, so you can't beat the price.

Planning for Birth and Postpartum

This is technically just Chapter Eight of the book Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn, but it's a great book and a great chapter. (Technically you don't even have to use this through the lending library.) This will give you the basics of getting ready for the big day and beyond. Written by Simkin, Whalley, and Keppler- who are all well known experts in the field of childbirth and pregnancy.

Dude: You're Gonna Be a Dad

This is a book for dads, obviously, but it seems to be written in a very clever style and goes to support dad to help mom all the while preventing him from inserting his foot into his mouth. It covers all of the basics of pregnancy, labor, and the first little bit with baby. This might be a good start if you're having trouble getting your partner to read books on the topic of pregnancy.

There are hundreds more books available for free both through the Lending Library and simply for free via the Kindle. That said, remember some people have written books and may not have specific qualifications other than being a parent.

So ensure that you watch what type of advice you get from the free books sections.
