    Variable Amount of Trail Mix

Do you have an abundance of leftover Halloween candy after the spooky festivities have come and gone like I do? We found a solution in this recipe our girl scout troop made and we loved the result. It's a basic trail mix with Halloween candy added.

The proportions are variable in this fun mix in Halloween colors. If you have an abundance of the mini candy bars, they also can be used by freezing them semi-solid and then cutting them into quarters or eighths (semi-frozen candy bars cut more easily).

This Halloween Candy Trail Mix would make a great Halloween party favor when stuffed into a plastic party bag and tied with orange and black ribbons. If the party is before Halloween, the drawback is you won't have leftover candy to make these with. You'll have to start from scratch. Either way, they're easy and fun to make, tasty and very festive looking.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag candy corn
  • 1 jar peanuts
  • 1 bag candy coated chocolate candies - Halloween colors
  • 1 package of raisins
  • 1 jar toasted oat cereal

Preparation

How to Make Halloween Candy Trail Mix

  • Package in airtight zip-top bags or party bags and tie with pretty ribbons. It's really that easy and very tasty! This technique can be used on any holiday candy -- Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day and so on.
