Detection Timetable Depends on Many Variables

Trying to identify exactly how long Percocet is detectable in the body depends on many variables, including which kind drug test is being used. Percocet (oxycodone and acetaminophen) can be detected for a shorter time with some tests, but can be "visible" for up to three months in other tests.

The timetable for detecting Percocet in the system is also dependent upon each individual's metabolism, body mass, age, hydration level, physical activity, health conditions and other factors, making it almost impossible to determine an exact time Percocet will show up on a drug test.

The following is an estimated range of times, or detection windows, during which Percocet can be detected by various testing methods:

How Long Does Percocet Stay in the Urine?

Percocet can be detected in the urine for 3-4 days

How Long Can Percocet Be Detected in Blood?

A blood test can identify Percocet for up to 24 hours.

How Long Can a Saliva Test Detect Percocet?

A saliva test can detect Percocet for up to 1-4 days

How Long Can a Hair Test Detect Percocet?

Percocet, like like many other drugs, can be detected with a hair follicle drug test for up to 90 days.

Avoiding a Percocet Overdose

Percocet contains a narcotic, oxycodone, an opiate analgesics medication prescribed for moderate to severe pain. The extended release version of Percocet is prescribed for people who need pain relief around the clock for an extended period.

Knowing how long that Percocet remains in the system can help prevent accidental overdose by taking more of the medication too quickly.

These are some of the symptoms of Percocet overdose:

If you suspect someone has overdosed on Percocet, call 9-1-1 immediately.

First-responders should be able to revive the overdose victim by using Narcan if they are notified quickly.
