Rainbow Loom, a rubber band bracelet-making kit, lets kids create colorful and easy bracelets, necklaces, and even rings. The following design is so easy, you don't actually need a Rainbow Loom (though the kit does make it easier). If you have a crochet needle and c-clips, you should be able to create this rubber band bracelet design using just your fingers.

You will need just a few materials to make this rubber band bracelet.

  • To make this easy Rainbow Loom rubber band bracelet, you will need just a few things:

  • Rainbow Loom kit or a Mini Rainbow Loom kit (optional)
  • small rubber bands in assorted colors
  • plastic "c" clips for closures

(Note): While you can make this simple rubber band bracelet without a Rainbow Loom, having at least a Mini Rainbow Loom can make it a lot easier for kids.

3
Place a rubber band on the mini Rainblow Loom kit.

Continue putting the rubber band on the mini Rainbow Loom as shown so that the band forms an "x."

6
Hook a "c" clip on one end of the loom and hook a rubber band on the other.

Hook a "c" clip on the rubber band on one side of the mini loom. Take the hook and put it through the rubber band on the opposite side of the loom and put a new rubber band on the hook.

7
Turn the hook upside down and pull through the loom.

Twist the hook so that it's upside down and pull it through the loom. Stop when the rubber band is halfway through the loom.

(Note: You can just pull it through without turning the hook but it tends to snag on the rubber band loops in the next steps as it goes through; turning it to pull it through and then turning it back again after it's through makes it a lot easier for kids.)

8
Turn the hook up again after it's through.

Once the rubber band is half-way through the mini Rainbow Loom, turn the hook up again as shown.

9
Put the other loop end of the rubber band on the hook.

When you are done adding rubber bands and ready to close, simply remove the first rubber band you put on the mini Rainbow Loom and put it through the "c" closure.

Here are some examples of finished rubber bracelets that can be made using this simple pattern. Your kids can mix and match colors and create even more complicated designs using the bigger Rainbow Loom. You can find different Rainbow Loom bracelet patterns online or at the Rainbow Loom website, rainbowloom.com.
