To make these fun gift bags, you will need the following materials:

  • plain, undecorated gift bags in white or pastel colors (Note: If you don't have gift bags, you can make your own colorful bags using brown paper lunch sacks and construction paper)
  • scissors
  • paper punches in a variety of spring-themed shapes such as butterflies and flowers (choose small or medium-sized punchers that make shapes that are about 3/4" to 1" in diameter)
  • fabric ribbon
  • glue stick
  • markers

*Note: You can use the paper-punch cutout shapes from other fun spring crafts and Easter crafts for kids such as "How to Make an Easter Garland."

3
Decorate your bag with a ribbon.

Use your hole puncher to make two holes about an 1 1/2 inches apart at the top of one side of the bag. Cut a piece of ribbon about 15 inches long and loop it through the holes as shown.

4
Tie your ribbon and add the punched-out shapes.

Next, tie your ribbon into a bow and glue on the punched-out butterflies and flowers. Kids will love deciding where the flowers and butterflies will go, and can glue them on themselves.

5
To decorate brown paper bags, simply glue construction paper on the sides.

If you are using plain brown paper lunch bags, simply trace the shape of your bag onto a piece of colorful construction paper with a pencil and cut it out. Then, glue the construction paper onto the front and back sides of your paper bag.

6
Write kids' names on the bags and add flower stems to finish the gift bags.
