John is a founder of Precision Nutrition, the world’s largest online nutrition and health coaching company, and an advisor to Apple, Equinox, Nike, and Titleist. Additionally, he was recently selected as one of the 20 smartest coaches in the world by Livestrong.com and nominated for the 2014 Fitness Hall of Fame.

Since 2000, his world-class, multidisciplinary Precision Nutrition Team of counselors, doctors, exercise specialists, naturopaths, and nutritionists have coached and mentored more than 200,000 people in nearly 100 countries through their research programs, professional education courses, and personal coaching groups.
Berardi worked as a research assistant with the University of Pittsburgh’s Behavioral Medicine Group, where he contributed to the Pittsburgh Healthy Heart Project.
He later went on to study Exercise Physiology at Eastern Michigan University (1998-2000), become a certified strength and conditioning specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, (2000), and earn a PhD in kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise and Nutritional Biochemistry at Western University in Canada. (2000-2005).
During his doctoral studies he worked extensively with Yale University School of Medicine’s Department of Diagnostic Radiology to study muscle carbohydrate replenishment after high intensity exercise using magnetic resonances technologies.
He is a faculty member at the University of Texas and Eastern Michigan University. He has been selected as one of the 20 smartest coaches in the world by Livestrong.com, one of the top 100 most influential people in health and fitness by Greatist.com, and was nominated for the 2014 Fitness Hall of Fame.
