Julie is a registered nurse with over 18 years in healthcare -- all spent at the bedside educating and comforting both patients and family members. She believes that colon cancer education is vital to empower the individuals and loved ones facing this disease.
Stepping outside traditional nursing boundaries, Julie has been writing healthcare education articles since 2002, putting her knowledge and experience to use in reaching a larger population.
She has enjoyed working in critical care units, the emergency room, pain management and hospice throughout her nursing career. She has supported from the bedside while patients and family fought digestive cancers and believes knowledge is power.
Julie earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix and an associate's degree in nursing from St. Petersburg College. She held certifications as a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse and Critical Care Registered Nurse and is a member of the Honor Society of Nursing.
