Make a Potato Poultice

A potato poultice is a warm compress made with grated potato. In alternative medicine, it is sometimes used to relieve congestion and inflammation and for conditions such as arthritis and eczema.

Difficulty: Easy

Time Required: 20 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Chop two unpeeled potatoes into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Boil the potato cubes. Mash them.

What You Need:

  • Potatoes
  • 2 pieces of cheesecloth or gauze
  • Towel
  • String or bandages

Using Potato Poultices for Health

Due to the limited research, it's too soon to recommend potato poultices as a treatment for any condition. It's also important to note that self-treating a condition and avoiding or delaying standard care may have serious consequences. If you're considering using it for any health purpose, make sure to consult your physician first.
