This is an active family, and Peppa and George are relatable characters who like to laugh, jump up and down and engage in other activities that preschoolers enjoy. Ask any preschooler who is familiar with the show what they like best about the program, and they are likely to snort at you -- that's the common sound that Peppa and her family make regularly.

The titular character, Peppa Pig is a happy young girl who loves her family and friends. Peppa lives in the U.K. and speaks with a sweet and engaging British accent. She loves playing games, dressing up, going on trips and jumping in muddy puddles. Her adventures always end happily with loud snorts of laughter! She's got a cheerful demeanor and is always very kind. She and George attend playschool (it is very similar to preschool) which is taught by is Madame Gazelle. Peppa's best friend is Suzi Sheep and together they like to play dress up (Suzi likes to pretend she's a nurse, while Peppa prefers to be a princess).

George Pig is Peppa's adorable little brother. A happy soul like his sister, he doesn't say much -- in fact he can only say one word -- "Dine-saw," for the beloved toy that he carries with him everywhere. He loves to play with Peppa and her friends, and he also loves to attend playschool with Peppa.
Mummy Pig is a smart pig who loves her family very much. Young at heart, she enjoys much of what her children do -- jumping in puddles, laughing and snorting. She works at home on a computer -- sometimes even letting Peppa and George help her.Daddy Pig is a fellow who is happy all the time -- except when he can't find his glasses! He is especially jolly when he plays with his two best-loved pigs, Peppa and George (even when Peppa teases him about his tummy). His favorite things to do are to read the paper, go on car trips and eat cookies (which explains his big tummy). While the show revolves mostly around Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy, we also often see friends and family in the episodes. Popular characters include Granny and Grandpa Pig, and Danny Dog, Pedro Pony, and Rebecca Rabbit, all friends from playschool.
