Reebok Skyscape Runaround shoes are built for all-day comfort. These lightweight shoes feature foam material in the upper with seamless construction. The are cozy to slip on and wear all day at school, work, shopping, walking the dog or weekend activities.

This shoe has been discontinued.

  • Lightweight: The size 9.5 shoe weighs only 5.5 ounces. That's less than many minimalist shoes yet they have enough cushion in the sole that your foot feels protected.
  • Flat: No built-up heel and the sole is only about an inch tall.
  • Flexible: The sole is very flexible under the toe area, so your foot isn't fighting the shoe with each step. But it holds its structure under the midfoot and heel to give you support.
  • Machine-Washable: If you like to keep your shoes bright and clean by laundering them, these shoes are made for you. The foam uppers wash well and keep their shape. It's also a great way to keep them from getting smelly.
  • The 2.0 version has a ribbed toe bumper and slightly updated styling but retains most of the same features.

Foam Uppers
I have avoided casual sneakers for many years because they often have rough edges around the ankle. Reebok Skyscape Runaround shoes not only have soft foam fabric in the uppers, but also a padded collar of foam at the ankle. No rough edges, just pure comfort. You can wear them with or without socks.

The tongue is also foam with extra padding across the top of your foot -- another spot where some shoes irritate my foot.

The foam fabric holds its shape even if you get the shoes damp. I remember my old canvas sneakers that were never the same once you got them dirty or tried to wash them. Instead, you can wear these through the grass and dirt and then brush them off or toss them in the laundry.

Sizes and Fit
The shoes come only in a single width.

I usually want wide shoes but I had enough room for comfort if I wore only a thin sock or wore them without socks. They come in half sizes.

The lacing pattern is standard with six eyelets. I was able to get a good fit at the ankle to keep my feet from sliding forward in the shoe.

Sole and Insoles
The sole has minimal rubber accents for traction. It has "Skyspring technology" for mild cushioning. The shoe has enough structure from the sole that it doesn't just bend in the middle, it provides enough support that you don't feel like you are barefoot. The removable insole is made of a foam material.

Trying Out Reebok Skyscape Runabout Shoes

I want a shoe I can wear all day that not only is comfortable to slip on, but also has enough structure for my 15-minute walking workouts I do on breaks at work. The Skyscapes were a pleasant surprise. They felt wonderful while I worked at my desk and also when taking a longer stroll at breaks and lunch.

I also quickly made them my go-to slip-on shoe when I wanted to leave the house to run errands. I didn't have to worry about them too much in rainy weather as they dry quickly.

I wouldn't use these shoes for serious walking workouts, as they don't have enough cushioning or structure for me for long distance.

But they are great shoes to wear for a typical active day at school, work, or weekend activities.

Snazzy Colors
I got a pair in the lovely purple Vibe color. They also come in black, grey, pink, blue and black with pink soles. I am tempted to buy pairs in blue and black.

Are Reebok Skyscape Runarounds Right for You?

If you spend a lot of your day on your feet on concrete surfaces, you may feel less fatigue and strain if you wear a shoe with more cushioning.
