The occupational therapy client plays as vital of a role in the therapy process as the OT. Our occupational therapy section aims to provide occupational therapy clients with information about OT best practices and available treatment options.
Sarah Lyon is a registered and licensed occupational therapist (OTR/L). From the beginning of her career, Sarah Lyon has been passionate about empowering clients with quality information about their role in the therapy process.
Sarah’s occupational therapy work settings include a critical access hospital, an acute trauma hospital, and a state inpatient psychiatric hospital. She has worked in a rural community and suburban environment, with a caseload ranging from elderly patients with dementia to young men with mental health disorders.
Sarah also manages otpotential.com, a website for occupational therapists, featuring a blog, OT marketplace and OT jobs board.
When not thinking about occupational therapy, Sarah can be found hanging out with her awesome family, enjoying the great outdoors, or frantically trying to finish her book club assignment.
Sarah received her Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from New York University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in religion from St. Olaf College. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and certified with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
