The X is another of those letters, like T, that simply have to be memorized. I think of X as "tricky, crooked X. See the picture below and you will understand why.

Y is one of the letters that closely resembles its uppercase written form. Your wrist is like the "stem" of the Y, and your thumb and index are the Y's "arms."
