Spotify Workout Playlists for Every Type of Exercise

Pump Up the Jams on Your Workout Routine

Music and exercise are a match made in heaven, which shouldn't come as a surprise if you've ever found yourself picking up your pace during an upbeat song. In fact, research from Brunel University's School of Sport and Education found that music can increase an exerciser's endurance by as much as 15% while also making exercise more enjoyable.

If you're not the best at putting together your own playlists, don't worry about it. Just download the (free) Spotify app and follow these playlists specially curated for every type of conceivable workout. You can thank me later!

I actually created this cycling playlist when putting together a group cycling workout for a class I was teaching at a local university. The songs are designed to be followed in order, but as long as you're cycling to the beat of the music, you'll get a great workout even when listening in "shuffle" mode.

Rowing Playlist

Using a rowing machine for cardio is a great way to engage your whole body in a low-impact workout, but it's certainly not easy. That's why the motivational favorites, including the Rocky Theme and Queen's "We Will Rock You," found on the Rowing Playlist by Chris Horsfall, make this a great rowing playlist.
