Next, cut a rectangle out of green card stock that's about 6" x 2" in size. This piece will form the top of the hat and the circle will be the bottom.

5
Glue the top of the hat to the circle.

Make the top of the hat by curving the rectangle to make a 2" tall cylinder and gluing or taping the edge. Then put glue on the bottom of the cylinder and glue it, taking care to put it in the center of the circle.

6
Cut a strip of black paper and a small rectangle out of the gold origami paper.

Next, cut a thin strip of black card stock or construction paper, about 1/8" wide and 6" long. Cut a small rectangle about 3/4" x 1/2" out of a sheet of metallic gold origami paper. This will serve as the band and buckle for the top hat.

7
Fold the gold paper in half and make two tiny snips.

Next, fold your gold rectangle in half lengthwise and make two tiny snips about 1/4" apart. Be sure not to cut all the way--you simply want to cut only about halfway so that you have two small openings through which you can slide the black strip of paper.

8
Slide the black band through the gold belt buckle.
