Dr. Tanya Feke has first hand experience with Medicare and Medicaid. As a primary care physician, she worked on the front lines caring for and advocating for patients who relied on these programs. She expanded her knowledge of the system by taking administrative leave in 2013 to pursue training in utilization review and medical necessity compliance. Dr. Feke subsequently consulted with hospital networks nationwide on these issues through 2014 before she returned to clinical medicine, now working at an urgent care clinic in southern New Hampshire.

With a passion for patient education, she has published two books, Amazon best-sellers Medicare Essentials: A Physician Insider Explains the Fine Print and Idiot's Guides: Medicare with the goal to inform the public about how to avoid the common pitfalls of Medicare. She continues to give lectures on Medicare and has also appeared on the television show Your Money, Your LifeHer web site Diagnosis Life remains a hub of health and wellness information, free to the public.


A graduate of Boston University in 1997 (BA in biology) and 1998 (MA in medical science), Dr. Tanya Feke completed medical school at the University of Massachusetts in 2003 and residency training in family medicine at the University of Connecticut in 2006. In 2013, she received the Health Information Technology Leadership Certificate from the American College of Physician Executives. Dr. Feke is also a long-standing recipient of the American Medical Association's Physician Recognition Award with Commendation through 2018.
