Cancer Blogs Are a Great Way to Stay Informed

Cancer blogs are a great way to stay updated and informed about colon cancer and to learn about others' experiences with the difficult disease.

Some cancer blogs (like my own) are written by patient advocates. Others, like most of the other cancer blogs recommended on this list, are written by people who use the blog to discuss their personal experiences.

About Colon Cancer is my own personal blog, so I may be a bit biased. Many people miss the colon cancer blog on the homepage because they jump directly from a search engine like Google to a particular article on the About.com site. If you have never explored the blog, I encourage you to do so, as it it written from the perspective of a patient advocate.

Life is Good is a blog that is written by a woman who was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer at the age of 39.

Cancer Diva

"My name is Terry, and I'm dying of cancer. Welcome to the adventure."

That's a quote from Cancer Diva, a blog maintained by a 40-something single woman with stage 3 colon cancer. In April of 2006, Terry's doctor gave her 24 months to live. I think the raw, witty recounting of her life ever since is worth following. It'll make the most sense if you start with the first entry. More »
