Wendy Bumgardner has walked over a thousand 10-kilometer events, 7 marathons, 2 Breast Cancer 3-Day Walks, and 1 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. She walked the Camino de Santiago in 2015.
She served eight years on the board of the largest organization of walking clubs in the USA, the American Volkssport Association. She served as trailmaster for dozens of walking events. She volunteered to organize walking conventions and the yearly Vancouver Discovery Walk Festival (now discontinued).
