Best Jobs for ADHD Adults

Everyone is unique -- with unique traits, personalities, strengths, weaknesses, interests.

This is also true for those with ADD / ADHD.

You may be the kind of person that thrives in an environment that is full of creativity and is fast paced, or you may do better in a quiet, structured, predictable setting. The trick is finding a career that plays to your strengths, skills and interests, and minimizes your weaknesses.

Your job should be stimulating and enjoyable. It should be one that holds your attention. A boring job that feels like drudgery will just increase your ADHD symptoms.

Many people have experienced success with an ADHD coach. The coach can help you find solutions to challenges you experience at work, as well as other areas in your life that may be impacted by your ADD.

Another idea is to hook up with a career counselor who is experienced with ADHD. If you are looking to make a change in your career, the counselor can help you identify your areas of strengths/weaknesses and interests/dislikes and help you find a good career match. Be sure to give some time for your medication to be adjusted. You may see some positive changes as you settle into the most appropriate dosage.
