A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips? Not with the advent of liposuction. Localized deposits of fat on the hips can be slimmed with liposuction. Often, liposuction of the hips is combined with liposuction of the flanks and outer thighs to make a smooth, continuous contour.Fat over the sacrum, commonly known as the tailbone, can be treated with liposuction. Extra fat in this area can make it appear as if there is a shelf at the top of the buttocks. This may cause fitted clothing, especially dresses, to drape oddly.
Some women have excess fatty build-up of the mons pubis, more commonly known as the pubic area. Many women with loose abdominal skin don’t notice this area until after they’ve had an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck. Often, these women will say, "I didn’t have this before my tummy tuck." The truth is, they didn’t see it before their tummy tuck because it was hidden by their hanging abdominal skin! Having extra "padding" in this area can make a woman very self-conscious when wearing tightly fitting pants.

Men can also have excess fat in the pubic area. The main complaint men have is not how they look in clothing, but more so how they look without clothing. Excess fat in this area can make the penis appear shorter than it actually is because it hides some of the penile shaft.
"Saddlebag" refers to a fat deposit that has collected on the outside of the upper thigh area. Women are usually the "lucky" bearers of this type of fat collection. Reducing the fat in this area can make a huge difference in how pants fit through the upper leg."Banana roll" refers to a roll of fat at the back of the upper thigh just under the buttocks area. It can be just barely present or it can be a distinctive roll, taking on the shape of a banana. It is also known as a "posterior thigh fold.""Kissing thighs" is a term used to describe the phenomenon of the inner thighs rubbing against each other or touching each other because of too much fat. This is not to be confused with inner thighs that touch due to increased muscle development. Inner thighs may also touch due to how a person’s thigh bones are set in the hip socket. There are slim women whose inner thighs touch and overweight women whose inner thighs do not touch. Inner thighs that touch due to reasons other than excess fat will not get a gap between the thighs with liposuction. People with excessive thigh fat, even after liposuction, may still have touching or rubbing of the thighs.Sometimes there is excess fat along the length of the front and back of the thighs. It is far less common for liposuction to be done on the front and back of the thighs than on the inner and outer thighs. Contour irregularities from liposuction, such as skin dimpling, are more common in these areas. Symmetry between the two thighs is also more difficult to obtain in these areas. The inner knee is an area where fat can accumulate, causing this area to look disproportionate to the rest of the leg. Liposuction of the inner knee area can streamline the leg, improving its appearance.Well-developed calves are a much sought-after feature. A layer of fat in this area can camouflage the muscles of the calf. Liposuction can treat this area, creating more definition to the lower leg. A lack of tapering at the upper portion of the calf can make it look unshapely or "thick."A "cankle" occurs when there is no natural taper of the lower calf as it meets the ankle. The lower leg takes on a more cone-shaped look as opposed to having a taper at the ankle joint. Liposuction of the ankles, along with liposuction of the calves, can improve the shapeliness of the lower leg.
