Winnie the Pooh, by A.A. Milne, is one of the most beloved characters in children’s literature. This bumbly bear with his rag tag set of characters has been a very popular nursery theme for many years. Many people who decorate the nursery in a Winnie the Pooh theme, want to incorporate some of Milne's wise words into the room. Here are some ideas including a look at the characters, as well as some of the most popular Winnie the Pooh quotes for walls and wall decorations.

The Characters of Winnie the Pooh

First start by thinking of the characters with the pages of the Winnie the Pooh classic stories. Each one of them has their own set of personality traits and things to think about. This might be the simple, but friendly Pooh, or the wise old Owl, the friendly Piglet and more. Some of the characters include:

  • Winnie the Pooh
  • Piglet
  • Eyeore
  • Tigger
  • Kanga and baby Roo
  • Rabbit
  • Christopher Robin
  • Owl

Which Winnie the Pooh Palette?

In addition to looking at various quotes, you might also consider which Winnie the Pooh style you would like. There is a modern Winnie the Pooh as well as a classic Winnie the Pooh. Other than a few stylistic differences in the rendering of the characters, the biggest difference is the color palette. The Classic Winnie the Pooh is a very light, pastel set of colors. The contemporary version is less water color and more bold and vivid. Both are styles you can easily find in baby items.

Winnie the Pooh Quotes to Consider for Decorations

That said, there are a ton of ways to use quotes, and these Milne quotes are a bit wordier than some quotes people use in their baby’s room. I’m going to try to group this for you:

Loving the balloon themes? This might be delightful etched under a balloon boquet:

“Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon.”

The most often heard quote from Pooh on baby walls is:

“Sometimes, the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”

Got a great thinker, or a thought process, I can see this with a Classic Pooh under the tree:

“Think, think, think.”

“Think it over, think it under.”

Another really common quote that is really about the time you want to convey to baby “If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”

Considering a friendship theme? The friendship between Pooh and Piglet is a famous one. Here are some great quotes to share that in a few words:

“We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?' asked Piglet. Even longer,' Pooh answered.”

“A little Consideration, a little Thought for Others, makes all the difference.”

“Friendship, is a very comforting thing to have,” said Christopher Robin.

Here are some other quotes that you might consider:

“I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet.

“I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart for so long. If we’re in each other’s dreams, we can be together all the time.”

“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.”

“Some people care too much. I think it's called love.”
